Yeah both are kinda coward when facing any enemy so this works out perfectly, they both can improve fighting each other all they need to do is change that bad habit of theirs.

I think I understand a little better what Biscuit said about Killua's "curse" and this "smothering/obsessive love", to me it seems like the way Illumi taught Killua was to always survive no matter what, and that may be why Killua overanalyzes stuff, so that if he thinks he can't win, his goal becomes surviving instead of winning. And that may be Illumi's way of keeping his little brother alive, therefore "love". Also, watching Gon's brain melt was hilarious 😂

He simply doesn't have to engage in fight with stronger opponent, as simple as that. And that's actually what he was taught. But let's say incase he accidentally got trapped with a stronger opponent, than he should use whatever necessary mean to not fight him. And if there's no choice, he should keep on evading attacks instead of fighting head on, like an assasin would do. That way his chances of survival would increase. But if none of the above works, he will simply die. Cause even if he fight, his opponent will kill him(as you said that his opponent is stronger).

Biscuit was half wrong. There's nothing wrong with running away from stronger opponents. But he should not run away from just slightly stronger opponents.
